Right now, roughly a third of the world sees temperatures that are dangerous to work in. By 2050 it will be far more.

Here is what “dangerous” actually means. Above about 35 degrees your skin can no longer shed heat by sweating alone, and past 45 the air is hotter than you are, so heat flows inwards.

The Middle East already lives with this. In the UAE, outdoor work is illegal between 12:30 and 3:00 every summer, which saves lives. But it also costs two and a half hours per worker per day, for a quarter of the year.

Every year, more countries face the same arithmetic. Air-conditioned buildings do not help the people outside them.

That’s why we built BREEZE; so you can continue to enjoy the outdoors even when it’s hot outside, and look good doing it.

For the Middle East today. For the rest of the world tomorrow.

Stay Cool. Stay Stylish. Stay Breezy.

Products

One system, three garments.

Instead of moving people out of the heat, what if their clothes did the cooling? That is the whole idea. Your own personal AC unit, built into clothes that look like clothes, because nobody should feel singled out for wanting to cool down.

BREEZE-W, Work jacket. In development. high-visibility shell, cooling layer, swappable power.

BREEZE-WWork jacketIn development

For the people who build our cities in that heat. This one comes first.

A high-visibility jacket for outdoor work, built for an eight hour shift with two battery swaps. Labourers, delivery riders, traffic police, oil and gas crews, logistics, security, event staff.

BREEZE-S, Hoodie. In development. cooling layer, everyday shell, concealed controls.

BREEZE-SHoodieIn development

For every day.

A fitted base layer under a hoodie that passes for athletic wear at two metres. For the school run, the walk to the car, the queue outside, the weekend.

BREEZE-X, Shirt and jacket. In development. base layer, insulated shell, concealed controls.

The flagship.

The platform’s strongest cooling and its longest runtime, in a shirt and jacket you would wear to dinner. Looks beautiful, feels beautiful, works incredibly.

The platform will heat as well as cool: one layer that actually keeps you warm, instead of four. A sleep version is being developed.

Method

Engineered before it is sewn.

Before a single garment was sewn, the design was chosen by simulation. A physics model, checked against three cooling devices you can buy today, scored 41 ways of cooling a person, then 2,017 candidate designs. Then the winner was run 20,000 times, changing every number we were not sure of each time, so the answer holds up when the real world does not match the model exactly.

  1. 41cooling approaches
  2. 2,017candidate designs
  3. 20,000simulation runs
  4. 3products

Three products came out of that search. After the 20,000 runs, each one’s chance of missing its cooling requirement is between 4 and 7 percent.

Modelled, not yet measured

That’s what we care about: a world where people feel better, work better, and are nicer to each other because of it.

For companies

Run a pilot on your site

If you run outdoor crews in the Gulf, the midday ban arithmetic is your arithmetic. We want a few companies to run paid trials with us, starting in the UAE.
