A Little Bit About Me and Why I’m Doing This

My name is Mo. I am 18, I am from Dubai, and I am Emirati: this is my country, I care about it, and I care about the people who call it home. I am at the University of Pennsylvania, and BREEZE is what I’m dedicating my time to.

There is no story about the day I had the idea, because there was not one. There were reasons. I always see them. Headscarves on, napping in the shade, pouring water over their heads to cool down. They live a seriously difficult life, and I grew up watching it from the car window.

Because I grew up here, I have seen the problem first hand, and I know the people who can actually build this. I am not afraid of getting something wrong. I am excited to give these people a solution, and to be part of the answer to a world that is going to get inevitably hotter.

My Vision for the Future

In three years I hope most construction workers are wearing it while they work, because it is actually making a difference to how they feel, to their health and to their safety.

Once the tech is more refined, I’ll deploy a consumer version, so everyday people can feel better in the heat and look good doing it.

That’s what I care about: a world where people feel better, work better, and are nicer to each other because of it.
